Carefully choose your shoes, cheap or expensive?
Coming from a generation whose parents had more than three children buying shoes was always a dilemma. Our parents had to think hard, deciding for cheap, expensive, leather, or synthetic, where to buy shoes that last and are healthy for our feet. Not any shoe will do. Going to the doctor for a damaged hip or broken ankle is more expensive than getting good shoes. I learned from my parents.
Shoes cheap vs expensive is the question we want to ask ourselves. Top shoe brands and prices do not necessarily guarantee quality and fit. Knowing the health of your feet, the exact size, especially the way you walk, will determine what type of shoes you will get and how much money you are willing to spend.
Also, keep in mind! Your lifestyle as in the latest fashion shoe trends, is that important to you? How many shoes do you need? The more explicit you are, the better informed you should be. The makeup of a shoe, as to comfort, support, and flexibility, is the key to successfully buying the right pump for the right price online. The idea here is don’t go cheap on your feet, because the health damage will cost more.
Due to the pandemic, we are venturing into the world of shopping for shoes online, a reason more to have a basic idea of what we need, want, and how to shop online safely. The first step is to get better informed about the products we buy and from whom. I have to admit that buying shoes online is not an easy task because of many reasons like the different sizes for different countries and because we cannot physically try the boots on. Nevertheless! There are ways to buy suitable shoes that fit are comfortable, affordable, and trendy. Many companies are catering to online shopping, offering the best customer service.
There are a few steps we can take to help us find the right shoe online. Here is how: Let’s consider the makeup of a shoe. Material: Leather, Plastic P.U., or Suede.
The quality of the leather depends on its soft-ness and thickness. Leather is sensitive to water and the sun. It is breathable, soft, and flexible. Leather adjusts to the shape of your foot, which makes it more comfortable. The longer you wear the shoe, the more it will adapt to your feet and give you the feeling of not wearing any shoes. Preparing leather to manufacture shoes is a complicated procedure, that is why leather shoes are more expensive but longer-lasting.
TIP: Not all leather is of good quality. Thin leather that is well prepared and appropriately tanned is of high quality, a scratch on the leather can be mended easily by applying a transparent shoe cream. Cheap leather is thicker, and the fabric is only surface colored. To know good quality leather shoes, the material listed on the label symbol is detailed.
Swade is a flat leather made from under the layer of the skin, which is softer. And because it’s not as tight as the upper skin, it’s not as durable. Swade-leather is sensitive to absorbing dirt and liquid; that’s why special care should be taken to maintain it. Suede leather is from lamb, goat, or dear. Due to its soft-ness, suede leather is used for manufacturing bags, gloves, jackets, and other accessories.
A lot of shoes are made of plastic. It is cheaper for production. It is more durable than leather but less environmentally friendly, not breathable, sensitive to the sun, and weather, which causes it to lose shape and color. Plastic is durable but put necessarily for its beauty. The older plastic gets, the more it losses its beauty.
It is an alternative to suede leather. The material made of silk, cotton, or other materials is brushed or sanded down to resemble suede leather. The fabric is more durable and less sensitive to liquid and dirt. Fake suede is thicker and very liked by vegan and animal-friendly customers.
Most shoes are made of plastic. It is cheaper to manufacture. Vinyl is more durable but U.V. sensitive; therefore, it can lose color. It’s not biodegradable and environmentally unfriendly. Shoes made of P.U. are not breathable and, therefore, not suitable for people with sweaty feet or who have hot feet and sensitive skin.
Outside and inside a shoe: The upper and lower part of the shoe is either sewen or clued. Both methods are right if done well. Either way, the paint between the upper and lower part of the shoe should be very well done and not noticeable.
The Sole: If a sole is sewn, the yarn stitches should be waxed. Waxed stitches are more durable and better quality. If glued, the work has to be clean around the area of glue, and there is no visible glue anywhere. All edges should be flowless.
Leather sole vs. synthetic or rubber sole: some shoes have a leather sole and some a rubber or synthetic. A leather sole is sensitive and will scratch off in time. It is advisable to have a rubber sole place underneath for protection. Leather shoes with rubber soles are very comfortable and healthy. A shoemaker can do that, which is not very expensive. A Rubber Sole is durable and more convenient to walk on. Synthetic soles are not sustainable; they rub off and lose shape, which is very unhealthy for our feet.
Heels: We like to wear heels, and they give a beautiful shape to our feet and legs, but they can be very damaging and harmful. When buying heels, we should beware of the makeup of the shoe. Shoes with a heel that are designed to support the whole foot are healthier. They should be lightweight, have comfortable insoles for soft cushioning, pads at the front for the pressure, and rubber under the heel for enjoyable walking. The heel should be placed right under our heel-bone to provide stability. As for platform heels which are made of
